Your outfit is mainstream.

When I woke up this morning, I did my Saturday routine; danced around my room, jump back into bed and read all of my emails. It did not hit me till 9 o’ clock that today was not Saturday but it was Friday. I have class on Fridays at 10 am.

I rushed around the house grabbing clothes off the hangers, made an ice cup of coffee and did a crappy job putting on my makeup just so I did not miss my stats class; I got to campus with 3 minutes to spare. As I was walking to my class, I noticed my reflection in one of the windows and realized I dressed myself like a hipster today. I was wearing a high waisted skirt, crop top, soft Oxford shoes and to top it all off, I was carrying a mason jar filled with iced coffee. Some might find this outfit amusing, and some might find this outfit cute. So I thought I would break down the outfit for you, dear readers:

  • High Waisted Skirt: I like wearing high waisted skirts because it shows off my waist.
  • Crop Top: Wearing a crop top with a high waisted skirt helps balance the illusion that I look slimmer. Look for a crop top that cuts right on your waist to help even the look.
  • Flats: You could wear heels with this, but to look casual I would stick to a nice flat shoe. I personally like Oxford flats with this outfit because it just makes it look nice compared to a flip flop.
  • Accessories: I like to pair this with a nice cross body bag. Also, I like wearing weird sunglasses too just because.

(Hipster Bonus Points: find a skirt that has a unique print from a vintage shop. Just think, “Would Zooey Deschanel wear that?)
