Hello everyone!
This is the time of the month when students open their textbooks, the library is completely filled, students are begging for extra credit and everyone is praying to God to pass their courses. Yes everyone, finals week is (sadly) here. Today I wanted to give you guys some helpful tips to survive this week.
Schedule your time
This seems like an obvious one but scheduling your study time helps you avoid being overwhelmed. I usually write a list of what I need to study. Once I feel confident, I check it off my list and go on to the next subject.
Goodbye Social Media
I love social media but it likes to hurt me during finals week. I get distracted very easily and I procrastinate. To stay focused, I will either delete my apps or I will hide my phone. It sounds crazy to do, but trust me; one week of not taking selfies will not kill you.
Stretch
I don’t know about you, but my upper back always hurts during this week. Some people don’t have the time to go to the gym because they are stuck in the library. That’s ok. Instead of working out, I think it is good to stretch; you’re getting more blood flow when you stretch and this can be your mini break from studying. I don’t know the exact names of the stretches that Melanie makes me do, but I did find some of the stretches on Popsugar!
Avoid Fast Food
When I am stressed, I always want french fries and carbs. Not only are they unhealthy, but crappy food makes you feel crappy. This is not brain food. This year I am going to try my hardest and avoid fast food. Good food= brain power
Face Masks
I break out easily but I really break out during finals week. To avoid rocking a huge red zit, I wear face masks while I study. My favorite face mask at the moment is The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Face Mask. When you put it on, it cools yours skin and afterwards it makes your skin feel super soft.
Eyebrow game on point
I am a business student and most of my finals are presentations. I am a terrible public speaker so I need to find ways to make me feel confident. I feel confident when my eyebrows look nice so I always make sure I get my eyebrows threaded before finals. I know that sounds silly but it’s true; you want to go into a classroom feeling confident and if it’s paying for nice clean eyebrows then so be it.
These are the tips that help me through finals. If you feel confused or frustrated during this week just ask yourself, “What would Hermione Granger do in this situation?” Good luck everyone! Just remember, don’t forget to study, sleep and drink tons of water!
