Someone once told me the older you get, time goes by faster. That statement is completely true. I cannot believe today is the last day of 2015! It feels like yesterday when I was trying to figure out what to write for my recap of 2014. I had such an amazing 2014 that I didn’t believe anything could top that… Well I was wrong. 2015 has been my favorite year (so far).
Let me break down my 2015: I was featured in Woman’s World Magazine for 22 Days Nutrition all thanks to Marco Borges. Marco even offered me an internship with 22 Days Nutrition but I sadly had to decline. I was sadden but luck was on my side; a local marketing agency was looking for a social media intern so I applied. Not only did I complete my internship and was able to use that as a 3 unit course, I was also offered a job! I learned so much from them that I was able to use those tips for my own blog. My blog expanded and according to WordPress’s 2015 recap, my blog had over 6,300 views within this year. My friend, Erica, was a huge help in that. Thanks girl for taking my lookbook pictures for me! Speaking of friends, my best friend Cara moved down to the Los Angeles area in January. I was really sad that she was leaving but we made sure to see each other as much as possible. I actually visited her a lot which lead to us getting Disneyland annual passes! I made unforgettable memories with my friends and I created new friendships with some amazing people. But most importantly, my family is healthy and we’re all happy.
I loved 2015 but that doesn’t mean I didn’t have some not so great moments. I did and that’s completely normal. This is going to sound like a typical millennial that thinks they know the “meaning of life”; I feel that life is about learning lessons. We’re always highlighting our good moments and we cast away our bad moments in the dark. I don’t think we should do that; I’ve learned new things from those situations. Those situations have molded my likes and dislikes, who I want to be and who/what I don’t want to be associated with and remembering life is unexpected. I’m not perfect, you’re not perfect, no one is perfect. We will all experience bad moments, but it’s how we use those experiences to learn from our mistakes.
This has been an unforgettable year and I cannot wait to see what 2016 has to offer. I have four New Year Resolutions: 1) to do something out of my comfort zone, 2) experience something new 3) work on more YouTube Videos and 4) don’t be afraid to put myself out there. Happy New Year Everyone and I’ll see you in 2016!
